Table Topper!

Oops! I meant to upload a picture of this a week or two ago and I forgot!

Another table topper with the chilis.

This table topper measures 22" square and I adapted it from a baby quilt pattern I found.  I quilted it myself using X's in the yellow and red squares and stitch-in-the-ditch (SID) around the chilis and the black feathery fabrics.

Here's the back, I'm just happy it turned out so cute.

Recently...

Here are a few pictures of things I've gotten accomplished lately..

This pattern is from a calendar my mom got me for Christmas last year.  The pattern is actually red, white and blue and it says "Home" in the middle but I made it into a baby quilt.  I printed off the letters for "Baby" from Microsoft word after I found a font size that was appropriate and I put iron on adhesive on the fabric and traced around the letters and cut them out.  Then I ironed them to the center block and machine stitched around them just in case!  I made this a few weeks ago but I put it away thinking I was going to add a border but I don't think I will.  It still needs to be quilted and have the binding put on.
(Clearly I'm not tall enough to get all of it in the picture haha)

This is a table runner I finished yesterday and MAN did it take a long time.  I'm very happy with the way it turned out.  I found measurements for the mini churn dash in a book I have and went from there.  I quilted it myself using a method I found on youtube.com but that was also very time consuming.  Still happy with it though! (Stood on the bed for this picture hehehe)

a close up of the churn dash and the little bows I stitched on the corners!  It measures 9 3/4" X 45 1/2"

This pattern I actually saw as a picture online and then I decided I wanted to use 5 1/2" blocks and just made a 9 patch and some borders! SUPER EASY! This measures 35 1/2" square.  I've had these fabrics grouped together for a while now and just didn't know what pattern I wanted to use.  I actually finished this a few days ago but it still needs to be quilted and have binding put on.

here is a close up of the purple with tiny white polka dots and the darker purple with the grapes! SO cute!

This is a table topper that I finished earlier before I ran errands!  I love the chili pepper fabric and if you've been following along you'll know that I've used it in several projects ;) and I still have some left!!  The topper measures 15 1/2" square and I still need to quilt it.  The pieced blocks are a disappearing 4 patch and it wasn't as time consuming as it may look!

And EVERYTHING I have shown you today I made from my stash! No cost out of pocket! However, I did run out of thread while I was binding the red, white, and blue table runner and I did have to run out for some more red thread.  Unbelievable, right?  So I guess I was out a few dollars on thread...but it was a necessary purchase.

I think I'm going to take it easy the rest of the day and make a few simpler (but still cute) projects.

Quote

This is a quote I found under a username of one of the members onhttp://www.quiltingboard.com/

I thought this quote was very powerful to me and wanted to share.

Even though I'm only 22, I do hope that one day this is true for me...

"When I'm dead and gone there ain't anybody goin' to think o' the floors I've swept, and the tables I've scrubbed, and the old clothes I've patched, and the stockin's I've darned…But when one of my grandchildren sleeps on one of those quilts, they'll think about me, and, wherever I am then, I'll know I ain't forgotten." from 'Aunt Jane of Kentucky' by Eliza Calvert Hall

Enjoy your day everyone!

Lots of Goodies!

Hello!

Here are some little goodies I have started making!

what are they you ask? they're tissue covers! for the little tissues you can buy in the travel section that women can keep in their purse! I thought they were just too cute to make only one!  This pattern I got from a tutorial fromhttp://www.quiltingboard.com/.

this is a "wallet" for a little boy!  I think it's so cute when little boys carry around change in their pockets so why not put it in a "wallet"?  I keeps saying "wallet" because the same pattern could be used for a girl's coin purse.  I made up the pattern myself. all I used were 4-- 5 1/2" squares! and just a little bit of velcro!

the inside!!

Here is a hair bow I knitted from a pattern called "Knit Bow Headband" from craftzine.com
I thought it was super cute! and the pattern can be adapted to whatever size you want!

Wanna know a secret? I was cross-stitching while my pictures uploaded! hehe.

Enjoy!
