Kitty Cat Picture Frame

This is a kitty cat! I used a Dresden template for the body and made little triangles for ears.  I hand stitched a little white tail and then I did little dots for eyes (I think it's called a French knot?) and then I machine stiched the whiskers.  And put it in an old picture frame I had lying around.

I think it's cute and very simple to do.  All it took was two pieces of scrap!

Easy Baby Boy Blanket

It started out as an old (not super old, but not brand spankin new) blanket and I used this for the batting after I removed the satin from the edges and washed it of course.
Then I laid the back, the batting, and the top out and safety pinned the edges, then I carefully sewed around the edge of the "batting" and trimmed away excess fabric.  Then I used some satin and finished the edges.
The blue with stars is what I consider the top, and the green with dots is what I consider the back.  But I love it! It's for a girl I work with and she is expecting a baby boy at the end of May.

(The green dots and blue stars is flannel!!!)
